Alexey Kvitkovskyi (Ukraine)
Alexey is a regional development activist and consultant in the field of support for people who use psychoactive substances, with over 15 years of experience and successful advocacy at the national and regional levels.
Professional experience:
• 2021–2025: Head of the Board of the Resource Center of the All-Ukrainian Association of People with Drug Addiction “VOLNA-Donbas”
• 2017–2025: Regional Development Consultant, All-Ukrainian Association of People with Drug Addiction VOLNA
• 2013–2017: Case Manager for OST sites, Luhansk Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian Association 100% Life
• 2011–2013: Regional representative of the Association of Substitution Support Therapy Participants (ASTAU), Luhansk region
• Since 2009: Outreach worker at the Needle Exchange Point, activist in the community of people who use psychoactive substances.
Participation in public organizations and committees:
• Since 2022: Member of the Steering Committee of the National Platform of Key Communities of Ukraine (NPKC)
• 2012–2023: Member of the ENPUD General Assembly (2021–2023 ENPUD Expert Council on Treatment, 2023–2025 Secretary of the ENPUD General Assembly).
Advocacy experience:
• 2012–2013: Advocacy for prescription dispensing of OST drugs in Luhansk
• 2015: Advocacy for prescription dispensing of OST drugs in Luhansk region
• 2022: Advocacy for dispensing OST drugs for up to 30 days in force majeure circumstances.
Skills and competencies:
Working with government agencies and decision-makers, mobilizing the community of people who use psychoactive substances, participating in the Coordination Council for Combating the Spread of Tuberculosis, HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis.
